Time to ring in the New Year as we support and build stronger community ... As part of the Deschutes Brewery Community Pints Program, every Tuesday (and one Thursday!) in December, Deschutes will donate $1 from every pint sold in their Roanoke Tasting Room to United Way of Roanoke Valley to help ALICE families and individuals. ALICE is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, and represents than 37,000 working households in the Roanoke Valley who struggle each month to make ends meet. Donations to United Way of Roanoke Valley help ALICE families and individuals: • make strides toward financial ability, with assistance for permanent housing and utilities, and deep savings on costly prescription medications • access quality, affordable health programs and preventative screenings • afford the high cost of quality childcare so parents can focus on work, while their children are exposed to the fundamentals they need to succeed in both school and life So, why not take a break from the holiday madness, have a drink and contribute to helping build a stronger community.
