IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR 2024: With the closure of the Main St Bridge, we will be starting and ending our tubing shuttles from Wasena Park! OUR TUBE SHUTTLES DO NOT START FROM OUR STORE! Our shuttle van will meet you at Wasena park(the end point and take out for this trip). There, our staff will go over all the safety info, show you the take out and shuttle you upstream for you to float back to Wasena Park and your vehicle. There are public restrooms at the park and ample parking in the larger lot by the baseball fields. Please arrive at Wasena Park at least 15 minutes prior to your trip time at the parking lot by the bridge, kiosk and playground.

Price includes tube (plus cover & seat) along with transportation to the put-in. Be sure to bring your own dry bag or plan to purchase one from the shop if you will need that capability.

We rent high quality river tubes for floating on the Roanoke River. Enjoy a slice of nature right in the middle of the city! The Roanoke is a relaxing river, with a few mild rapids to keep things interesting. Float time is dependent upon water levels and other factors. Typically, it takes 2 to 3 hours to float back to Wasena Park.
Simply choose your preferred time slot through our online booking system and arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure.
We can shuttle 14 at a time and have 60+ tubes to accomodate large groups!

Water Level/Weather Notice
The Roanoke River can run at low levels in the summer. 150-300 cfs is optimal for floating. Below 120 cfs, you may find longer float times with increased potential to run aground in a few places. We cannnot control the water levels! Please check for current levels and plan accordingly! We may cancel our river operations if air and water temperatures are deemed to low to safely put people on the water.
Please note: This is an unguided outing. The minimum age we will shuttle is 6. All participants must know how to swim and manage themselves on a body of moving water. Footwear is required, flip flops not recommended. We do not offer tandem tubes, cooler tubes, rafts, or inflatable kayaks. We discourage participants from tying or binding together tubes. Please arrive at Wasena Park at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tube shuttle time as we have many shuttles throughout the day to keep on schedule. We ask for tubers to park in the larger lot at Wasena Park(by the baseball fields) and walk down to the Wasena Park bridge kiosk to save space for other greenway users/residents. We ask that you arrive ready to get on the water(weather/water appropriate clothing and secure footwear) to keep our shuttles on time. Our van and shuttle driver will be at the kiosk by the pedestrian footbridge to meet you, show you the take out and cover all the pre float information . See you on the river!
WEATHER/RIVER NOTES:
We do provide a raincheck if we cancel due to inclement weather or water levels aren't suitable for tubing. Our booking software offers trip insurance(Peek Protect) at the end of the booking process to allow for cancellations up to 24 hrs from your shuttle time.
Custom Outings
If you have a large group and/or wish to arrange a custom shuttle time, we will do our best to accommodate. Custom shuttles carry a $200 minimum, regardless of group size. We can offer a discounted rate of $18/person for groups of 10 or more people.
